Mobile Check Deposit FAQs:

Q: WHAT IS MOBILE CHECK DEPOSIT?

A: Mobile Check Deposit allows you to deposit a check into your eligible bank account using your smart phone app. You will take a picture of the front and back of your endorsed check for submission to the bank. Keep this check for 90 days and then securely destroy the check; we suggest shredding the check.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO USE MOBILE CHECK DEPOSIT?

A: Mobile check deposit is available for FREE to ALL consumers enrolled in Mobile Banking. If you are eligible, you will see a deposits option within your or mobile app.

HOW DOES MOBILE CHECK DEPOSIT WORK?

A: Endorse your check prior to depositing: For Mobile Deposit Only DeWitt Bank & Trust, your signature

  1. Log into your mobile banking app
  2. Select Deposits from the menu
  3. Select Deposit Check
  4. Select the account to deposit funds
  5. Enter the deposit amount of the check
  6. Select front image which will prompt you to take a picture of the front of your check, click on the camera to take an image-if the image is clear and contains all four corners of the check select use if not then select retake until you get a good image.
  7. Select back image which will prompt you to take a picture of the back of your check (make sure check is properly endorsed: FOR MOBILE DEPOSIT ONLY DEWITT BANK & TRUST), click on the camera to take an image-if the image is clear and contains all four corners of the check select use if not select retake until you get a good image.
  8. Click next
  9. Once the image has been sent the user will be prompted to confirm the deposit- click confirm if ok or click edit if something needs to be changed.
  10. Deposit Pending Message is displayed from here you can select make another deposit or view my accounts.

Q: WHAT TYPES OF CHECKS CAN I DEPOSIT?

A: Checks must be payable in US dollars and be drawn on a US bank or credit union. The check must also be payable to the account holder and properly endorsed.

Q: WHAT ARE THE CUTOFF TIMES FOR MOBILE CHECK DEPOSIT?

A: The cutoff time for checks deposited using Mobile Check Deposit is 4:00 PM CST, on banking days. Anything deposited after 4:00 PM CST on a banking day, or on a weekend or holiday will be processed the next banking day. Deposits made before the 4:00 PM CST cutoff time, will be available the next banking day, pending deposit review. Your deposit could be rejected for a multitude of reasons including, but not limited to: duplicate item detection, no endorsement present, or over the deposit limit.

Q: IS THERE A LIMIT ON WHAT I CAN DEPOSIT WITH MOBILE CHECK DEPOSIT?

A: There is a per item limit of $2,500 and per day limit $5,000.

Q: HOW WILL I KNOW IF THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH MY MOBILE DEPOSIT AFTER I SUBMIT IT?

A: There are certain rejections that you will be made aware of immediately, meaning you will not be able to submit that deposit. There are certain other reasons we may reject a deposit, which you would be notified by the last email address we have on file for you. You can always check in the check deposit history under deposits. Within the deposit history it will display accepted, pending, and failed deposits. Green-Accepted Yellow-Pending Red-Failed

Q: WHAT DO I DO WITH THE CHECK I DEPOSITED THROUGH MOBILE CHECK DEPOSIT?

A: You will hold on to this check for 90 days, in case the physical copy is needed. Once the 90 days are up, we suggest securely destroying the item, preferable by shredding.

  1. Write "mobile deposit on date" on the front of your check. The date should be month, day and year of your deposit.
  2. Securely store your check for 90 days after your deposit, then destroy it. It must be kept in case the original check is needed for any reason.

Q: ARE THERE ANY FEES TO USE MOBILE CHECK DEPOSIT?

A: This service is free.
